To mark World Food Safety Day 2025, CCI France Myanmar and Myanmar Innovative Life Sciences (MILS) jointly organized a hybrid commemoration event under the theme “The Science of Integrity: Building Trust in Every Bite.” The event was held on 10 June at the Institut français de Birmanie in Yangon.

The program opened with welcoming remarks from Mr. Kyaw Thu Htet, CEO of MILS, who highlighted the importance of strengthening food safety systems and fostering trust within Myanmar’s food systems.

Panel Discussion: “The Science of Integrity: Building Trust in Every Bite”

A key highlight of the event was a panel discussion featuring experts and practitioners from the private sector, the food safety community, and agri-food supply chains:

  • Ma May Thu Tun, Quality Assurance Manager, Makro Myanmar

  • Ma Zar Chi Lyun Naing, QA & Operation Manager, Wilmar Myanmar Group of Companies

  • Dr. Zin Mar Linn, Head of Food Safety & Quality Business Unit, MILS

  • Ko Aung Kyaw Sint, Sales Manager, Bureau Veritas

  • Ma Nandar, Founder, Nandar’s Kitchen

  •

The session was facilitated by Ma Taryar Ahnt Kyi, CEO of CCI France Myanmar, who guided the discussion on strengthening integrity, transparency, and safety standards across Myanmar’s food system.

Product Showcase and Networking

Following the panel session, a Product Showcase was held featuring members of the SUN Business Network Myanmar, along with food producers partnering with MILS. The showcase provided an opportunity for local enterprises to present safe, quality-assured food products and engage with stakeholders from across the value chain.

Acknowledgement

MILS extends its sincere appreciation to all participants—including business owners, producers, development partners, and food industry representatives—who joined both in person and online to support this important occasion.

As part of our ongoing commitment, MILS will continue working closely with partners to strengthen food safety practices, enhance local production standards, and contribute to a more resilient and trustworthy food system in Myanmar.
